WHAT IS EVLT FOR VARICOSE VEINS?
Endovenous Laser treatment (EVLT) or Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) is a novel technique invented by Dr. Robert Min at Cornell University using a laser inside of a large varicose vein to fuse it closed. It is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia which means you can resume your normal activities immediately. Most patients can be back in the gym the same day they had treatment either walking on a treadmill, doing eliptical machine, Yoga, Pilates, cycling, etc.
EVLT utilizes laser energy delivered endovenously (directly inside the vein) so there is little to no scarring and a relative short recovery period after the procedure.
